Wedding Adventure - Day 12 - Vegas to DFW

Running on Hawaii time, we didn’t get up very early at the Hard Rock. It is too bad we didn’t get to spend more time in the room with the 11Am check-out. Maybe we’ll have to stay here on a future visit.

Since it was lunch in Vegas by the time we got our day started, we ate at the Pink Taco in the Hard Rock (not to be confused with Fuzzy’s Taco in Fort Worth by TCU). My enchiladas were really good.

After lunch we took a cab down to the strip and tried our luck at a few tables. Neither O’Sheas or the Imperial Palace were very good to us on this particular trip. We walked through the Forum Shops and picked up some gourmet chocolates at Vosages. Then we headed down the strip to Coca-Cola World to try the “Around the World” soft drink sampler tray. The tray contains 16 different carbonated and non-carbonated Coke products from around the world. Some of them are very good while some of them are just awful. If you are ever in Italy, do not order a Beverly. Drink the wine instead.

It was then time to retrieve our bags from the Hard Rock and head to the airport for our US Airways flight home. The flight was not very busy and uneventful. We arrived back at DFW airport where Amy’s parents picked us up, eager to hear of our adventures.

After so much planning for so long, everything seemed to go just as we planned it. A perfect wedding and vacation all in one!

Wedding Adventure - Day 11 - Hawaii to Vegas

Today we had to say goodbye to our room at Turtle Bay and our trusty cute little red Jeep. Leaving the hotel, we made one last stop at Pahipahi’alua Beach on Kawela Bay to scoop up some sand for safe keeping and display at home with the octopus. We stopped at the bakery in Haleiwa to pick up lunch and ate it at the beach park. We then made the drive across the island to the Honolulu airport.

Our flight left Honolulu at 4PM local time and was much faster going back to Vegas, at just over 5 hours. The Hawaiian Airlines 767 was not quite as nice inside as the one on the way out, but the flight still went by quickly while we listened to music and watched movies on our iPod. We were given turkey croissantwiches to eat and they were pretty good.

We arrived back in Vegas with all of our baggage and grabbed a cab to the Hard Rock Hotel right about midnight. It was a pretty deserted Monday night, but the room was very cool and modern. Overall the place has a pretty rocking vibe with the constant loud tunes in the casino and tons of rock and roll memorabilia everywhere. The entire wall of Elvis stuff is very cool. After grabbing some snacks from the 24-hours store off the casino, we crashed for the night.
